Another week down, more miles logged. I must say, I'm a little in shock. The discipline I've had, the drive, the motivation... I'm actually proud of myself.
Not much new to report.
#1 - I ran my first 5k this past Saturday. After running 10 miles that morning, just 3 hours later and I put on my running shoes and hit the trail again. I actually finished right at 30 minutes (that's averaging a little over a 9 minute mile). Quite impressive for someone who had already run 10 miles that day. The cool part. When the day was over I had actually run a 1/2 marathon (yeah, that's 13.1 miles)!! Crazy, I know.
#2 - I met with my coach/personal trainer at 6 this morning. He got me squared away with my work out regimen. Looks like I'm running 3 days a week, swimming one day and weight training another. I get two off days and hopefully a decent amount of rest. This thing is for real. I had no idea what I was getting in to.
#3 - The fundraising is going well. I'm well over half way to my goal (yippee). I'm sending out a postcard in February to kind of update folks and remind those who may have forgotten. Do spread the word. It's such a great cause.
With that little update said and done, I'll sign off for this week.
